UAC Dairies Installs Solar Hybrid Photovoltaic (PV) system with a capacity of 800 kWp - Largest in West Africa

UAC Foods commissioned the installation of a solar hybrid photovoltaic system with 800Kwh capacity at the UAC Dairies Plant situated at Plot 32, Kudirat Abiola Way, U.A.C Drive, Oregun, Lagos. This is the largest solar installation in West Africa.

 

The sustainability agenda, approved by the MD, Dele Ajayi, will help the company save operating cost and minimize the negative impact from energy consumption due to machine operations. The initiative is estimated to get save save up to 2,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year energy and save 30% of energy cost. By taking advantage of this technology, UAC Foods making every effort to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and save energy. This would ultimately have a big impact in ensuring the business remains profitable and is able to significantly contribute to a cleaner and safer environment.

The project was commissioned in August 2021 and officially handed over in November, 2021.
